The Colonization album brings together the electronic music the duo has been plunging into in recent years, and the psychedelic rock sensibility from their past, and the result is a style of music that sounds timeless - not bound to any particular era or genre.

Chill rhythms, deep bass, pulsating arpeggios, soaring keyboard leads and heartfelt guitar passages, blend into a melodic soundscape that is designed to take your mind and spirit on a fantastical journey and land you safely back home at the end. Start off with the opening track "Arrival" and listen all the way through the to the title track at the end and see for yourself!

All the songs are original compositions by Michael Canary, with the exception of "Embryo" - a song by Roger Waters that was a mainstay of Pink Floyd's live sets in the early 70's but was never properly recorded in the studio. UltraViolet Uforia recorded their own version as an homage to Floyd who have always been a major influence on the music of uVu.

UltraViolet Uforia returned to their early electronic roots on this album, with Michael employing new production skills, propelling them into a realm of hypnotic grooves.

Michael and Steve of uVu take it all the way from concepts and ideas, to writing the music and lyrics, programming, production, recording, and performing.

Change is a good thing and today uVu announces the release of some long awaited new music.

While this is just a taste of what is to come from the reformed UltraViolet Uforia, "Alien Intentions" marks the first solo release for founding band member Michael Canary, revealing the new darker ambient side of uVu.

Co-founding member Steve Webb is hard at work mixing down tracks for a another album featuring yet more new directions they have taken in the studio. Look for samples of that to be posted soon, but in the meantime enjoy the new album "Alien Intentions"!

InfraRed Uforia was once the alter ego of the rock band UltraViolet Uforia - a home for the ambient, electronic, and experimental music that Michael and Steve created together outside of the band. This was the second album released under this band name. For reasons now forgotten, "moonflowers II" was released a year earlier than "moonflowers I" .
